This November, Harvard Medical School Continuing Education marks a milestone in endocrine surgery education with the 30th Anniversary course on Surgery of the Thyroid and Parathyroid Glands in Boston. First launched in 1996, the program has built a global reputation for clear, practical teaching grounded in real clinical decision-making.

Across two focused days, the faculty address the full spectrum of thyroid and parathyroid surgical care, with particular attention to what has changed in modern practice and what still matters most at the operating table. Sessions include current management of low-risk thyroid cancer, the expanding role of active surveillance and thermal ablation, and updates in molecular profiling and targeted therapy for advanced disease. Parathyroid topics span preoperative evaluation and localization, as well as intraoperative tools such as autofluorescence and vascular assessment, supported by panel discussions and a multidisciplinary tumor board format.
